Joyce Vincent

Forget about me
Yes, do forget about me
I was a lady of perfection
Seized by trouble beyond my walls
As they merely remembered me when they saw me
But quickly forgot about me when I left
How could this be?
When I worked with them chatting my story out.

Forget about me
Yes, do forget about me
For you cared not about my life
Yet you called me a friend
Checking health at sight
But when out of sight
I become out of mind
So I sipped my last on my own
And waited years before I rested.

Forget about me
Yes, do forget about me
For when your sugar run out
You called at my doorstep
But when all was good
My doorstep turned to a wall
As you forgot of my existence
And chequed my own acount
Only if i could speak for myself

Forget about me
Yes, do forget about me
This is the world they now call home
For we lost love to the screen
And addicted we became to a peace
That loneliness creeps at
As families have become a mere figure
Neighbors just another number on the door

Forget about me
Yes, do forget about me
As tomorrow is for singles
And the dust is a friend of one at a time
For we were not at all
But mere passangers in this voyage of life
That I waved goodbye without my kins
And it took a judge to discover my remains
As they knew me not
But forgot about me
When the wall held my service in the static of the screen.
