But the rose now wilts
Was it my fault
To invest all the effort to keep it blooming
Only to realize it had a season
And water wasn't there to support my efforts.
Forgetting what a monster it is
Some hide away from it
Only to find themselves wearing cloth of denial
Singing "what doesn't kill you makes stronger."
Forgetting,
But adamantly,
Playing the ignorant card
We race our hearts to slaughter chambers
Only to emerge heartless.
So I now don't blame them those that cheat
They were once loyal
But someone broke them
They once sought that special rose to tender
But they got left in the open.
